Salford’s activity in the School of Music, Media and Performance has a distinct and separate flavour in the Manchester area with teaching and research in popular, band and jazz music and recording technology. Performance and dance are represented in this cluster by both courses and research interests. The School has extensive recording studios, dance studios and the Robert Powell Theatre.

Interests include performance for recorded media; digital multi-media publishing; new writing for live performance; factual TV and radio production

Academic Enterprise

In the music cluster this includes an annual programme of concerts, theatre, and dance performances and the Freeflow 1 and 2 web sites for music and media graduates starting in employment.
